AccEarth supports every major geospatial file format used in GIS, mapping, and earth observation. Upload your own KML, KMZ, GeoJSON, GPX, or Shapefile from the Company Hub, and AccEarth will render it as a layer you can toggle on and off, query, and combine with the satellite imagery you generated. This category explains the supported formats, how to upload each one, and how to convert desktop GIS files into a mobile-friendly format when needed.

Step-by-step guide

KML is the Google Earth format — markers, lines, and polygons with rich metadata. KMZ is the same thing, zipped. Both are fully rendered by AccEarth, including the embedded images inside a KMZ.

GeoJSON is the modern web standard. If you are exporting from Mapbox, geojson.io, or a custom web service, you can paste the URL or upload the file and AccEarth will display it instantly.

GPX is the universal GPS format. Export a track from your handheld device, drop the file into the upload dialog, and AccEarth will draw the path on the satellite image so you can see exactly where you walked or drove.

Shapefiles need to be converted before AccEarth can render them. Use QGIS (free) or ogr2ogr to convert to GeoJSON. GeoTIFFs are accepted but only show metadata — convert to KML overlay for full rendering.
